This year the Alpha Upsilon chapter joined forces with Kappa Delta sorority to host the first Elementary Olympics philanthropy. K-State fraternity and sororities were invited to enter teams to play four-square, tetherball and tug-of-war in tournament brackets. The event raised about $800 benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Manhattan-Ogden Public Schools Foundation. Jason Smith, Kansas State ’02 said that in addition to a flashback to childhood, the philanthropy project also helped strengthen the greek system’s reputation.
