Four of the 24 Wildcat Warm-up Counselors for 2007 are Delta Sigs. They include: Mike Nolan, junior in political science, Deerfield; Kyle Smith, junior in accounting, Overland Park; Donnie Hampton III, freshman in pre-professional business administration, Leavenworth; Travis Stuewe, sophomore in economics, Maple Hill Wildcat Warm-Up allows new students to spend three days and two nights at K-State, establishing connections with current students, faculty and staff while learning student success strategies and K-State traditions. It is an optional program -- in addition to K-State's orientation and enrollment program -- that is aimed at student retention. Wildcat Warm-Up will be June 8-10, marking the fourth year of the program. "It will give new students entering K-State in the fall a head start by meeting other freshmen, learning K-State traditions, getting involved in campus organizations and gaining a sense of the Wildcat spirit," said Emily Lehning, K-State assistant dean of student life. The program is supported by tuition enhancement funds allocated by the K-State Student Governing Association. Source: Emily Lehning, 785-532-6237,
