Why Delta Sig?

Choosing where to live in college is a big decision. K-State offers many different options. Your choice in this matter will affect everything about your K-State experience: your grades, your level of involvement and your social life. The truth is, where you decide to live at K-State is not just where you sleep; it’s your home away from home for the next four years.

It’s a proven fact that students who choose organized living groups (Greek life, residence halls, or scholarship houses) enjoy more support and opportunities. You will simply meet more people, hear about more things, and enjoy your time more! These things simply aren’t available off campus. But for the man who wants the perfect complement to his college education—who believes good grades, smart involvement, social activity and building leadership experience are the most important aspects of college—the obvious choice is to become a member of a fraternity.

Some serious students view fraternities as marginal organizations and academic distractions at best. But there is truly no better option for the young man who is serious about making the most of his four years at K-State. Fraternity men consistently post GPAs higher than the all-university average because they are part of a network of support and experience. Fraternity men make up 20 percent of the campus population but hold over 65 percent of campus leadership positions. Greeks are marked by their desire to improve their surroundings. We know that smart involvement teaches organization and study habits that improve grades.

Delta Sigma Phi can pride itself in both these areas. Because grades come first, our social lives are dependent on posting GPAs higher than the all-university average. Because we understand how important leadership is, over 80 percent of our house holds a leadership position on campus. Among these many positions, members of Delta Sigma Phi are currently serving as the KSU Student Body President, Inter-Fraternal Council Directors, members of the Student Alumni Board, and members of the Student Governing Board.  Most Importanlty, men become members of Delta Sigma Phi for the rewarding friendships it offers.

Living at Delta Sigma Phi is a smart and reasonable decision. It is less expensive than living in residence halls with a similar meal plan. It is the perfect environment for academic improvement. It offers many opportunities for leadership growth. The friendships you form here will last a lifetime and be the highlight of your college days.

Soon, you will make the choice about where to live at K-State. Many men have already discovered that Delta Sigma Phi is the perfect “home away from home." They are part of a brotherhood who cares about them, wants to see them improve as a student and as a leader, and who will never think twice about offering them a helping hand.  Members of Delta Sigma Phi are commited to helping each other have the most positive, productive, and enjoyable college experience possible. We hope you also choose to become a part of Delta Sigma Phi.
